**Puppy food: We are in the middle of a food switch and are currently sending puppies home on 4Health Puppy Food from Tractor Supply. You can also order it here online if there isn't a store near you. We recommend switching your puppy to a non-chicken protein but the same brand and formula close to 6 months old. Alot of doodles are developing allergies to chickenhttps://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/4health-grain-free-puppy-dog-food-30-lb-bag?cm_vc=-10005 . If you don’t want to feed this food BE SURE to feed puppy kibble for at least 8 months. We also suggest SLOWLY switching your puppies food, never switch suddenly.
Food and water bowls: (Stainless Steel Food and Water Dish ) Avoid plastic & ceramic which can leach into the food/water
Enzyme Cleaner: It is so important for potty training to properly clean accidents. We recommend this cleaner for the washer or cleaning spots.
Bed: We like 0

Crate or kennel - Your puppy will only need enough space to sleep while training. This isn’t ‘cruel’ but actually gives your puppy comfort like a ‘den’ once they adjust to it and are successful potty training, you can increase their space. It helps to find a kennel that has a divider you can remove as the puppy grows.

Potty and Playtime:
I suggest using puppy play gates for the first couple of months to help your puppy house train. Here is what we used for them.
You can also add a potty area if you are going to leave your puppy for more than a few hours. Puppies can only hold their bladder for the number of hours they are in months old plus 1. So a 2 month old puppy can only hold it for 3 hours. Your puppy has been litter box trained, while this is best in a “litter” setting, it will work for other situations. We use a small kiddie pool (from Dollar general) and fill it with some pine pellets. We use te tractor supply ones, they have the best value.
It is a great idea to start getting your puppy used to grooming as early as possible! Using an electric toothbrush around the face and feet will help them not be scared of clippers. Also getting them familiar with a blow dryer early on is helpful. Grooming is an essential part of your puppies life, you will want them used to this and introduced gradually.
Shampoo and conditioner - My all time favorite Shampoo is NuVet's Oatmeal Conditioning Shampoo. It smells amazing! You will want a bottle. Don’t use human products- Dogs have different PH and human shampoos are irritating
Dog brush and comb - Separate and comb through sections of your doodles hair and use a slicker brush to brush out. After 6 months your doodles hair will change as the adult poodle coat comes in. Because you’re dealing with 2 types of coats, they can easily mat in no time. Never wet tangled hair, always brush out before. Your groomer is your best form of information. Let them show you how to properly brush your baby and keep their coats looking great. Here is a good, inexpensive brush to start with.
